High points bracket) fleet setup though, so I've got like 7 Janus class ships, one in each fleet so I'm determined to find some use for them lol. I've got both a Ranger and a Janus in my current "Heavy" (Ie. Gotta agree so far, the Ranger is undeniably good, spewing missiles consistently while contributing to the gun line, but the Janus with it's forward facing turrets and slow speed/poor turning is VERY awkward to use. I just find the Janus very awkward to use.Īhh, I see what you mean I suppose I'll have to try it for myself and see if I can make it work. I favor the Ranger heavily over the Janus but it is probably the best Nuke boat. I don't know how the AI prioritizes but it's hard to screen the nuke within other munitions b/c it has a 5 second delay before launching and it moves slower than other regular missiles, so if you launch them together it's gonna lag behind. Originally posted by Lack of Stuff:It's cool. Was kind of hoping Nukes would be a good role for them, since they bring so many slots and the slow reload time wouldn't matter.

Plus, I'm just really not sure what to do with my Janus class ships, they have quite a bit of armor, so I don't think they should be sitting back spamming guided missiles or AP like a Ranger, Torpedoes work pretty well but you have to be within spitting distance or they miss. Sorry for all the questions, I just unlocked them as i finished my session for the night, so I haven't actually gotten to use them yet the game is "on my mind" though so I was curious. Maybe I should bring some on the Celestra and then switch to them when I get into knife fight range? Still it might be handy to keep a Nuke around to delete an annoying Phobos that is jumping around your rear.ĭoes the AI prioritize it? Or could I hide it in a salvo of other munitions? I prefer torpedoes for close in work and AP for longer range.

Unless you are up against Rev/Cera spam I don't see it working out great. Originally posted by Lack of Stuff:You would need to be fairly close for the nuke to have a chance at getting through interception usually.
